How excited was I when approached by the diamond merchant Rox a few months ago, to be featured in their guide to taking a luxury break on the beautiful Isle of Skye?! Along with some posh hotels and restaurants, I was suggested as the photographer to capture a secret proposal!
All of us mothers have heard this, but how many of us have been organised enough to sort out a photographer to come and take some photos of a day-in-the-life of your newest family member? Thankfully, Danielle knew that she was only going to have a short while to capture wee Cailean at his squishy, smiley best!
One word, girls...... EYELASHES!! swoon swoon!
The email was simple.... "I'd like to propose to my girlfriend while hiking in the Quirang. Can you be hiding and capture the moment?"
The planning and execution? Not so much! Add into the fact that he was in Chicago, and picking his ideal proposal location from grid references on Google Maps, and you have a perfect (but exciting!) storm of chance and what-ifs.
It was a typical Skye morning when I met the Masseys at their B&B... a large grey cloud loomed dramatically on the horizon, and there was enough of a mist in the air to make the car windscreen damp.
"Are we going to be able to do this?" they asked, worriedly.
